AN INSPECTOR CALLS by J. B. Priestley

"Utterly thrilling"

BURST FM

June 2001

Mahwaff's first production remains our most audacious. Performed in Bristol as guerilla theatre in a disused underground cablecar shaft, the show provoked huge reactions from audiences.

The shaft runs over 200m inside the Clifton Gorge - besides the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and has been derilict for over fifty years.

The physical dangers of the production were almost insurmountable. Disused and left forgotten for so long, the rotting tunnel demanded logistical support from over 40 production staff. 3500 candles were burned for light. An audience of over 450 were sneaked in over 3 nights for the thrilling, terrifying spectacle.

Directed by Adam King.
